According to the box in her living room, Date 3 marks the customary kick-off for a new sexual relationship. If you're unwilling to hit the sheets with a new male by then, you may be branded a frigid loser and tossed onto the reject pile. Guys have expressed consternation about this so-called rule, too. They're pressured. If they don't make a move by the third time out, some women accuse them of being weird or gay. But think about it: What kind of man gets into bed with women from the get-go? Guys who think James Bond is a real person. Guys who need to feel better about themselves. Guys who have absolutely no self-control. Put it this way, if a guy keeps pushing you, a virtual stranger, for sex right away, chances are he's pushing every other virtual stranger for sex right away. He probably won't make an ideal boyfriend. I know what you're thinking. Sometimes a couple will click immediately. I do believe in love at first sight. Studies have been conducted on animals as well as epidemiology studies that do not have conclusive results. The studies on animals had flaws in the way the study was carried out and while exposure to low level RF emissions did show a likelihood to develop cancer in the brain or mouth these animals were already predisposed to developing these types of cancers despite the RF emissions so there is no way a cause and effect relationship can be drawn. Also, the studies had a variety of results that have not been recreated in other studies. The epidemiolgoy studies did not show a cause and effect relationship between cancer and low lever RF emissions from cell phones for the short term. However, there is no way one can know for sure if the long term use of cell phones is risky or not because no long term studies have been conducted. Of course over time if many individuals start developing brain and mouth cancers after 20 years of talking on the cellular phone then there will be some obvious relationship. However, until the time there is some conclusive evidence as to whether or not cellular phones cause cancer or put an individual at risk for other types of health risks then more studies will be conducted. What Next? Studies are continually being conducted to try and determine if there is any relationship between RF emissions and health risks. Time will be one of the biggest factors to determine what, if any, health hazards might be associated with cellular phones. Also, the FDA is working to determine if there are any hazards and if so how to deal with them. If you have a cellular phone and are worried about RF emissions then you might consider using a handset instead of talking on the phone held up to your ear. The reason for this is the farther the cell phone is from your beady the less RF emissions your body will absorb and the less risk, if there is a risk, experienced due to the RF emissions. This topic is still under debate and probably will be for some time. I like to visit and see what questions interest me and answer the ones that do. Yesterday I saw one asking for help to apply eye liner make up, a category of the board I had never ventured into and remembered how hard it was to learn how to apply eyeliner in my teen years. What I did see were quite a few questions asking for help from young teenage girls or asking about what age is good to start wearing make up everyday. My mother was strict. I couldn't wear makeup outside of the house until I was in Grade 11. I was allowed to practice putting it on at home before that though. In addition, most schools here in Jamaica still require uniforms. Makeup is simply not an option for teenage girls going to school here. So I was a bit surprised to see a question over at Yahoo asking if it was OK to wear make up everyday to school and seeing most of the answers saying yes. Hmmmmmm... Maybe I'm old school but I feel teenage girls need to concentrate on learning at school. I realise the U.S. is very different from Jamaica but I still feel limits are fine. There are so many aspects to beauty other than what we see in magazines and on TV and like you probably do, I tend to stress inner beauty first. Self worth has become such an important issue throughout our world that I feel it warrants us going back a bit to basics. My mother taught me that it was my inner qualities that were lasting and important and that outer beauty and knowing how to put myself together well was wonderful but not the more important of the two. I think teaching our children how to create lives that express peace, harmony, giving, gratitude, love, compassion, wholeness, tolerance and wisdom everyday will go a much farther way to expanding that throughout the world. Then as older teens and young women, our daughters will wear make up that only highlights their natural outer beauty and reflects their fully developed inner beauty as well. I responded to the question by that young school girl by suggesting that she wait until sixteen to start wearing a bit of eyeliner and a light lip gloss. I also suggested that she could in the meantime practice taking care of her skin by getting an excellent skin care system with cleanser, toner and moisturiser, as good skin is always the key foundation of outer facial beauty. The most exciting player on offense is receiver Ryne Robinson, who had 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns and if likely starter Mike Kokal can get him the ball, he can make big things happen. Robinson is also a master of the punt return as he needs just 259 yards to break the all-time NCAA record in return yardage. The offense has averaged at least 31.3 ppg in each of the last four seasons but that looks to be an unattainable number in 2006. Returning Starters on Defense 2 Returning just two starters from the MACs third ranked defense spells trouble for the RedHawks. It isnt like there is a lot of experience either as Miami has only four seniors on the entire two-deep chart compared to nine sophomores and four freshmen. The strength of the unit is in the secondary where free safety Joey Card is one of those retuning starters while cornerback Frank Wiwo did have a handful of starts back in 2004. The front seven is a huge concern with defensive end Craig Mester being the only returnee. The rushing defense finished 44th in the country last season but it did allow a rather lofty 4.1 ypc, the most in three years and that average will likely go up even more this year. But there is some history on their side. This is the least amount of returning starters since 1995 and Miami allowed only 15 ppg and 165 ypg that year. Schedule Seven of Miamis 12 games are on the road this season including games at Purdue, Syracuse and Cincinnati, the last two against teams ranked lower than the RedHawks heading into this season. They start the season against Northwestern at home which will be a very emotional game for the Wildcats. The first two conference games are at home against Kent St. and Northern Illinois and following the game against the Huskies, Miami travels for four of its next five. That includes a game at frontrunner Akron and an improved Western Michigan team. The season finale is at home against Ohio and while the RedHawks miss Toledo, they also miss Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan, the two bottom teams in the MAC West. You can bet on Miami is the least experienced team in the MAC and its going to show at least early on. The first six games make for a tough stretch even though there are no true powerhouses involved in the mix. The RedHawks should jell together by the second half of the season but by then it could be too late. Miami is 1-5 ATS in its last six games as an underdog and it will be in that role many times this season. Its worth keeping an eye on, especially on the road where the RedHawks have dropped four straight when getting points. Its going to be an uphill battle but this is the MAC and we have seen some strange things from this conference in years past. Its just something that shouldnt be counted on.
